Sister Cities of Asia by Noealz

I am a photographer born and raised in South Texas, USA; however, I ended up an elementary school teacher in Seoul, South Korea in 2011. My story starts earlier than that though, I have been taking photographs since I was a child. During my student years, I would always carry a disposable camera with me to take photos of my friends. This fact was forgotten until a trip I took back home and uncovered boxes and boxes of photographs I took at a younger age.

People often ask me about my story, but the takeaway I want people to walk away with is the story of dedication and perseverance. I have continually taken photographs since a young age, but professionally I began 10 years ago. Photography is something I did for myself and did not enjoy doing for others. It is my escape, my therapy, and a way to relieve my stress. Oftentimes, I take photos from sunset until sunrise in the rain and snow, because those are the moments when I feel I can make my imagination come through in the form of a photograph. I enjoy creating content, working two Youtube channels, two Instagram accounts, posting daily on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and Pinterest as well as creating prints, writing books, and creating cool photography projects just for fun.

'Sister Cities' is a tribute to the different megacities of Asia at night. I am inspired by cyberpunk films such as Bladerunner, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, and anything related. Oftentimes I feel that during my vacation time is when I work the hardest of the year because I travel to a city in Asia and spend all night taking photos, only stopping to sleep, shower, eat, and backup my files; but I enjoy every moment of it.

I've like to keep myself busy and even if NFTs were not in my life, I continue and will continue to create photographs and push myself to my creative limits until I can't walk any longer. This is the takeaway I want people to know about me. That I have been creating art all my life, walking endlessness in typhoons and snowstorms, just for the sake of taking a beautiful photograph.
