Why Spectacle?

Philosopher Guy Debord predicted our fake social media reality in his seminal work, "The Society of the Spectacle". He predicted a world where images become more important than the realities they represent. His solution to the spectacle was conversation, allowing us to have deeper relationships that are not as fleeting as a simple image. I think the word spectacle feels about right for the current Web3 and Crypto Twitter ecosystem, a time where images fly by you daily and memes travel like wildfire. This collection looks to embrace the spectacle while encouraging honest conversations at the same time.

How is this collection related to Stoics?

Every great hero needs a foil. The Anti-Stoic Spectacle is the antithesis of all that is amazing about The Stoics by Gabe Weis. The Stoics are the nicest and most art-friendly 5k PFP in the land. Although in theory, they are mortal enemies, all Anti-Stoics Spectacles will be welcomed into the Stoic community and given a special role inside of the discord.
