How does a supernova sound after the blast has settled and the remnants of its white dwarf gives life to new planets?
"David At The Gates" explores this question, transporting the viewer to worlds reminiscent of those created by acclaimed film directors Stanley Kubrick, Christopher Nolan, and Andrei Tarkovsky.
A collaboration between Val Kilmer x Tim Maxwell x Nate Hill x Laurence Fuller, David At The Gates explores the music of our universe, bouncing hypnotic ideas into the great beyond through the eyes of a journeyman standing at the precipice, staring into the sound of the dark beyond.
The exhibit is expressed through the minimalist, repetitive and obsessive lines of ink, Tim Maxwell’s pen on paper, which form structures that erupt from his subconscious.
Nate Hill’s digital lines blanket an eroded landscape, as an avatar of Adam ~ the first man, steps out onto an earth not of our own & emerges with the abyss staring back into him.
The lines of poetry written by Val Kilmer, and performed by Laurence Fuller are music of the soul, music of our universe, bouncing hypnotic ideas into the great beyond, holding up the sky.
Strung tight like the chords of a cello, lines tie the landscape together.
