Matt Szczur releases his first collection "The Gift of Life" on Nifty Gateway. Having previous works released, this is the first full collection with multiple entry points. A portion of the proceeds from this drop will be donated to the Matthew Szczur Foundation to help raise awareness, find matches for bone marrow transplants, and save lives.
In 2007, I joined the National Bone Marrow Registry through Be The Match. At the time, I didn’t think anything of it. Every 3 minutes, 3 people are diagnosed with blood cancer, and odds of being a bone marrow match are 1 in 80,000.
In 2010, I was called to donate to a baby girl. I didn’t know her name, age, or where she was from. All I knew was that my bone marrow was a perfect match, and I had the opportunity to save a life. I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to share my bone marrow story through art. The entire process — from joining the registry (The Match), to Anastasia in desperate hope of finding a donor (The Hope), to the donation (The Gift), to finally seeing Anastasia flourishing in the end with her new bone marrow (The Survivor).
I am extremely grateful for the opportunity Nifty Gateway is giving me to spread awareness. A portion of the proceeds from this drop will be donated to the Matthew Szczur Foundation to help raise awareness and find matches for those in need of bone marrow transplants.

Anyone that holds a piece from this collection and signs up for the National Bone Marrow registry will be eligible to enter into a drawing for a special collectors 1/1. Collector must submit proof of sign up in order be eligible for drawing.
