The oppressive rays of light force everyone to seek solace in the cool refuge of their homes, abandoning their recreation to the sun.

About The Artist
For Alexis Christodoloulou, what began as a hobby became a full-time artistic career rendering imaginary architecture and digital worlds. The Cape Town-based digital artist is self-taught, having learned to create renders from YouTube tutorials. His dream-like architectural spaces often feature indoor-outdoor structures with rounded furnishings, circular objects, and terrazzo surfaces all in pale shades of pink, yellow, and blue. Nature tends to find its way inside whether it be windows overflowing with foliage, pools like rocky lagoons or trees framing buildings, homes, even rooms. These whimsical environments reflect Christodoulou’s design preferences and are the perfect setting within which to explore the effects of light, shadow and atmosphere. Ultimately and unlike many architectural renders, Christodoulou’s are an extension of his dreams and an escape from reality rather than hyperrealistic themselves.
