Released Dec 14, 2022
For our last drop of 2022, we are excited to introduce Perry Cooper’s ‘Lost in the Crypt’. A bonus artwork to his recently sold out collection, Lost Luggage, Perry uses the same theme and notorious luggage to bring us through 3 different scenes, all inspired by our Los Angeles gallery located at Dream Hollywood.
Not only replicating some of the location's physical attributes, Perry has also included multiple Easter Eggs and references to The Crypt Gallery. One of the most prominent of these references involves the artworks displayed and included throughout the gallery’s digital displays.
Finishing 2022 with a recap of previous curations we have released on Nifty Gateway, artists featured in this piece include: Esra Eslen, Elti, Emre Yusufi, Hashmukh, Alan Bolton, Dianave, Nolan Martin, JmarinoVfx, REK0DE, MEGS.IO, Idil Dursun, Beryl Bilici, Zak Tustont, and Tillavision
Those familiar with Perry may also know how important, and influential in his work, his daughter Abby is. Artist Ntxoo Tori Hong created a portrait of Abby, which Perry also subtly included in this piece.
A special feature to this piece includes an appearance from Dot Pigeon. Notorious for his signature inclusion of other artists in his work, Dot Pigeon released Killing your ego pt1, back in March 2021, which features one of Perry’s tea kettles in the background. Bringing it full circle, Perry now showcases this very artwork. Adding to it all, Perry and Dot Pigeon actually met IRL for the first time at The Crypt Gallery in New York City, during our location launch event at Dream Downtown.
IRL Community Meetup In New York City this week? Come experience the drop live and in person at The Crypt Gallery in Dream Downtown. Hosted alongside the HODL community, we invite you to enjoy our digital art exhibition, IRL networking, drinks + more.
