About Tim Flach
Tim Flach (b. 1958, London, United Kingdom) is an award-winning British conservation photographer who has exhibited in several global collections and auction houses, including Christies, the British and Swedish Museum of Natural History and the National Media Museum. He is the President of the Association of Photographers, holds an Honorary Fellowship from the British Institute of Professional Photography and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of the Arts, one of the world’s most prestigious artistic institutions. Tim’s work is internationally acclaimed, having featured in National Geographic, The New York Times, The Guardian and New Scientist among many others.
He is best known for his highly interpretive images of wildlife using techniques heralding from humanistic portraiture, and an artistic lexicon that reflects and plays on our own emotions. Tim’s particular fascination with endangered birds culminated in the publication of the critically-acclaimed Birds, where he captures nature’s most exquisite creatures in brilliance, acuity and coloration otherwise impossible with the human eye.
Having followed the spellbinding plight of the Spix’s Macaw for a generation, Tim now brings us his debut NFT collection to commemorate the return of the species to its ancestral home, 22 years after it was declared extinct in the wild.
