Cey Adams, a New York City native, emerged from the downtown graffiti movement to exhibit alongside fellow artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. As the founding Creative Director of Def Jam Recordings, Adams created some of the most iconic campaigns in Hip-Hop, for artists including Run DMC, Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Mary J Blige, Public Enemy, Notorious B.I.G., DMX, and Jay-Z, among others.
Adams’ work has been exhibited at The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, MoMA, MoCA Los Angeles, and Museum of Graffiti, Temple University, He recently collaborated with IDEO, Apple, Levi’s, Bacardi, Foot Locker, Converse, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Google.
