Ghost Series

Chris Trueman is a Southern California based painter. Chris is a very well known and experienced artist, having participated in countless exhibitions since 2009. His collection on Nifty Gateway is titled 'Ghost Series' because all 4 works are paintings of his that have disappeared. Speaking on his collection, Chris states, 'I find myself wondering what happened to the paintings, have they been found? Have they been destroyed or sold or sitting in a closet somewhere? In this case before they had shipped out, I had made high resolution scans of these paintings and I thought about the idea that they had become digitized, living in a disembodied world now. It makes sense within my existing body of work that explores the relationships between images and objects that these works would now exist in a purely digital form and through blockchain technology, their ownership and place in the digital world could be traced.'
