A special NFT collection crowning the partnership of San Holo and longtime friend and Creative Director Thorwald van den Akker.
San Holo is a Dutch musician, reputed for his genre-bending sound that includes electronic, indie and his much loved guitar instrumentation. His records have amassed over 1 billion streams, including hit single “Light” which went gold in 8 countries. He’s performed for thousands of people around the world: his most recent “album1” tour included performances at legendary venues such as Red Rocks, The Shrine, Terminal 5 and festivals Coachella, EDC, Lollapalooza, Lowlands and Tomorrowland and more. His forthcoming album “bb u ok?” is out May 21st 2021.
Thorwald van den Akker is the Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of bitbird, the label he co-founded with San Holo, and San’s Creative Director. Longtime childhood friends, their relationship began in school where they played in bands together, evolving into Thorwald playing a critical role in the creative and visual development of San Holo and the bitbird. Thorwald’s creative skillset ranges broadly, from photography, videography, creative direction and post-production. Over the years he’s created or contributed to almost every visual artwork that’s been associated with the San Holo project.
A portion of the proceeds of this release will be used to offset the carbon emissions of minting, as well as San’s estimated emissions over the past 5 years (including flights for touring). Donations will go to the Gold Standard certified Kenya Biogas Programme, which we chose as it has both positive environmental, societal and economic impact.
