NYC-based internationally renowned painter and one of the launch artists on Nifty Gateway, Michael Kagan returns with a collaboration with augmented reality pioneers Anima on an iconic representation of astronaut Gene Cernan, the last man to walk on the Moon and now the first explorer of the metaverse.
Kagan’s “CERNAN” is a sculpture that he has worked on for the past year in the studio. Kagan’s 3D form is based on the brush strokes of his iconic large scale painting of the same Apollo 17 astronaut. The sculpture exists in the real world as a 10 inch figure, and now it can exist anywhere on the planet and tower to the heights of buildings through this collaboration with Anima.
CERNAN AR, the first ever augmented reality fine art sculpture, is forever linked to LAST MAN, one of Kagan’s original paintings. Winning bidder receives both one-of-a-kind pieces.
