The Rubble Collection by Kobi Walsh

The Rubble NFT Collection examines the way that we traditionally view debris and discarded material in our immediate environment. Created from the Rubble sculpture series, each video work highlights the constantly changing surface of these natural forms. I used found pieces of rock, shards of concrete, broken bricks, and whatever other rock forms I could find in my immediate environment to source the materials for the physical sculptures. The Rubble series draws attention to overlooked forms in our environment, removing their conventional identity, and allowing us to view all subjects as defined by the atmospheric light of a particular moment in time. The series explores how removing identity, and thus societal bias, of a subject and focusing on how light impacts the fluid surface of these forms can change how we view the world around us. Each video highlights the constancy of change within an ever-shifting palette of light and color, representative of the state of impermanence that I believe unifies the human experience.
