Sometimes life presents us with unexpected situations that shake us and in just an instant completely change our reality. Nothing is as you thought it would be, and your most solid pillars are suddenly shaken. You disconnect from reality and experience a feeling of emptiness that never seems to go away. You have the profound certainty that your soul is now hollow.
Jako approaches this subject from the point of view of introspection. By inviting you to reflect, from a safe place, about these sensations. And allowing you for a few minutes to become aware of a harsh reality, which today has brought you to where you are.
The first time I saw Jako's art the concept that came to me was crypto costumbrismo, in the same way that in the XIX century painters reflected everyday life, Jako Del Bueno shows common people in common places (a supermarket, a bar) using the aesthetic rules of the XXI century. In Hollow, he exporates an uncomfortable concept of our time, loneliness, and emptiness in spite of our hyper-connected lives. It is reminiscent of Hopper, but with more rawness and more loneliness.

Jako Del Bueno is a nomadic digital artist. His work addresses the relationship between the individual and the world. Always with an absolute awareness of the present moment and with a natural underlying message, "tempus fugit" (time flies). With more than 180k subscribers on his YouTube channel he has become a reference artist in Spanish speaking countries, collaborating with some of the biggest digital art brands such as Wacom, Huion or Clip Studio. He has worked on projects for HBO, Editorial Planeta or the musical artist Rels B among others. This year, 2023, he has been selected to exhibit his art at the Artists Village at NFT.NYC.
