Generative Human started life as a performance in Dubai’s Alserkal Avenue. Dancers from Sima Performing Arts, responded with improvisational choreography and music to a sequence of NFT artworks curated by MORROW collective. It was a one-off, 12-minute meeting of art, movement, dance and song. In a reversal of the process where machines make art during a generative drop, here, the art informed the movement of the performers and in turn, the reactions of the audience. The collection of artworks from Generative Human were later exhibited in A4, Alserkal Avenue’s community space.
Ranging in style and concept, the artworks are linked by a connection to the journey of life and the mysteries that lie beyond. From works that are inspired by nature, fertility and growth to those that celebrate mythology and transformation, these animated, digital works are an explosion of colour and movement. They also address subjects of universal consciousness stemming from a love for all humanity. Across multiple disciplines and from a variety of geographies, Generative Human, evokes emotional richness and is a moving tribute to the cycle of life.
