Gavin Shapiro is a 3D designer/animator currently working as a Motion Design Director at R/GA in New York. His ultimate goal is to produce work that makes you smile, and these days he aims to do that by making vibrant, surrealist 3D animation that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still retains a high level of quality. He's lived and worked in Osaka and Paris, working on a large variety of projects including tv shows, commercials, outdoor displays, large-format stage visuals, and animations for casino games. Real Collectibles for an Imagined Reality is a playful exploration of how we are emotionally affected by art experienced in person versus art experienced digitally. How can we combine the strengths of digital art with the strengths of physical art to create a new, unique experience? The collection also aims to question how our notions of value and scarcity differ between the digital and physical realms. The sound for each piece was created by sound designer Panos Pagonis. Check out his work in the link at the bottom of the page!
