Classical Odyssey

Lorde is Mateus, a digital painter from Brazil, he has been dropping with Nifty Gateway since 2022. Lorde explores the creation of figures covered in silk into dark and mysterious environments. His work has been exhibited in New York including NFTNYC 2023, 2024; The Crypt Gallery; Bali, Indonesia at the Superlative Gallery, also 3 of his paintings exhibited in Charleston at Beeple Studios during the Crypto Wonderland art event.

It’s not the first time Lorde creates something inspired by classical paintings. In 2023 he painted AMΞRICAN LORDE and $alvator Mundi, both works inspired by classical paintings. For this drop, Lorde painted a new layer over the masterpieces “Dream of Solomon” by Luca Giordano, circa 1695 and "Venus, Cupid and Chronos" by Giacinto Gimignani, circa 1680. While keeping some of the original parts, he added the iconic figures covered in silk and the comical doodles he called ‘Odyssey’, this doodles can be observed on Crossing Reality Odyssey, SILK ROAD and many other works not released yet by the artist. These both styles Lorde explored in the past, now merged together generating an incredible result within these two NFTs.
