Released Oct 6, 2022
Miss AL Simpson's "Cash Slaves" are one of her longest running cryptoart collections, the first one being minted back in 2019. The concept of the collection has always been that of exploring the tension between the facade of painted-on beauty and the underlying desire for endless pots of fiat cash.
Fusing digital popart with a kind of graffiti art deco style, 'Cash Slaves" ooze a flawless timeless glamour. However, scratch the surface and what we actually have here are fiat symbols of an Old Money regime that are addicted to fiat lost promises and pixelated luxury. Throw in 24 carat gold, rose-gold and silver and these Cash Slaves appear to be a Deluxe version.
However, all that glitters is not gold and as the precious metals glitter away, we start to sense a fragility and sadness to these beautiful Cash Slaves addicted to Old Money wealth. Fragmented portraits are crafted in Miss AL Simpson's inimitable style, and as the portraits shard through the movement, we get a glimpse of the real person underneath all of the fiat glamour.
All is not lost for the Cash Slaves though, as they slowly become free of their Old Money addiction and eventually evolve into complete crypto natives!
