" The man and the street lantern "
Story
The man stood beneath the street lantern, his face illuminated by its dim light. His thoughts raced as he pondered life and all of its complexities. He thought about the choices he had made and how they had shaped him into who he was today, both the good and bad decisions that had brought him here at this exact moment in time.
He wondered what lay ahead for him in his future; would it be a journey filled with pain or pleasure? Would his path lead to success or failure? These were questions that only time could answer, but even still he felt anxious not knowing what tomorrow might bring.
He looked up towards the night sky above, covered with stars twinkling like diamonds against a velvet backdrop of infinite darkness. A peaceful calmness washed over him as gazed upon them; surely such beauty must mean something greater than himself was out there watching over him despite everything else going on in his life.
As if on cue, an owl hooted from somewhere nearby and suddenly reality came crashing back down around him. Taking one last deep breath before turning away from the light of daybreak, he murmured a silent prayer that things would turn out alright - whatever happened next - no matter how hard it may seem at first...
